WHAT IS

BIBLICAL COUNSELING

What is the Nature of Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling is the personal discipleship ministry of God’s people to others under the oversight of God’s church, dependent upon the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word through the work of the Holy Spirit.

What is the Goal of Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling seeks to reorient disordered desires, affections, thoughts, behaviors, and worship toward a God-designed anthropology in an effort to restore people to a right fellowship with God and others.

What is the Method of Biblical Counseling?

This is accomplished by speaking the truth in love and applying Scripture to the need of the moment by comforting the suffering and calling sinners to repentance, thus working to make them mature as they abide in Jesus Christ.

Counselee - 2024

"For me, biblical counseling has been an opportunity, not to dwell on the past and previous hurts, but instead to find God's redeeming love in that hurt, and to move forward resting in God's faithful love, promises, and the goodness that He has for me and my life. Biblical counseling has been an opportunity to be discipled with the Lord's wisdom through my counselor, Laura. Laura has been patient and gentle with me as we have walked through many vulnerable and humbling conversations, she has guided me faithfully and I have no doubt that she has led me in the direction that the Lord has called her to. I have been encouraged endlessly and called out in a God honoring way that has grown and enhanced my walk in ways that I will never be able to express. I am so grateful the Lord allowed me to be a part of biblical counseling so that I may get to walk closely to him."
